Car parking:
- Park on site adjacent to the accommodation, with easy ground level access straight into the rooms.
- We offer assistance with bags on arrival, for further assistance (eg. with subsequent shopping) please just ask.
Public transport provision:
- Rail: Lydney is the nearest station (9 miles), a taxi from there is approx. £16
- Bus: The nearest stop is approx. ½ mile. This is for buses to Coleford, Gloucester etc.
Shops and amenities:
- The nearest amenities are at Berryhill (1 mile): Post Office, pharmacy, pubs, general store (The Dairy), hairdressers.
- Coleford (2 miles) is a small market town with all normal amenities.
- Provisions can be delivered directly to your door.
- Shopmobility scheme: the nearest is at Ross-on-Wye (9 miles).
Main entrance and reception:
- Reception (in the dining room) is open whilst we are serving breakfast. At all other times, please ring the bell for attention.
- The entrance to reception is at ground level (ie there are no steps).
- The door to reception is a standard, relatively light weight door with no closing mechanism.
- There is a seating area in reception, with a coffee table for any administration.
- The floor is level throughout, and into the guests’ garden seating area.
- All doors are 750mm or wider.
Accommodation:
- Rooms are signed with brass numbers (they are also consecutively numbered 1-8 from right to left).
- There is relatively good colour contrast to floors, walls and doorways. All entrances have external lighting.
- No bedrooms are specifically adapted for wheelchair use. All B&B rooms have a relatively restricted bathroom space, with showers. Self-catering apartments 6, 7 and 8 have sleeping areas upstairs and shower rooms. Self-catering apartment 5 has a large bathroom with a bath, and a double sofa bed (approx 40cm off the floor) downstairs as well as double bed upstairs).
- Assistance dogs are welcome (we are Pet Friendly accommodation). Dogs can have free run of the guests’ garden. Please note that this is not entirely enclosed.
- Task lighting can be provided on request.
- Telephones are not provided.
Breakfast Room:
- There is adequate space and two seating types. Additionally, furniture can easily be moved for ease of accommodation.
- Prices, menu and other information are provided in the dining room and room information packs. All is available verbally.
- We cater for any special dietary requirements, but would ask for some notice.
How we reduce our environmental impact:
- Recycling bins provided and we separate and recycle for guests.
- Buy local and promote local.
- Suntubes to utilise natural light.
- Sewage tank cleans water without any chemicals or energy use.
- Provide bike storage to encourage this mode of transport.
- Minimise packaging with soap dispensers, homemade jam from local produce in reused jars etc.
- Low energy bulbs
